Book of Kanye: Part 1

Kanye West, rapper/designer/celebrity, was selected as the musical guest for the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. West, a now outspoken Trump supporter, made waves by delivering a pro-trump rant at the very end of the episode after credits rolled. Usually, the cameras stay on and televise the cast and host all congratulating each other after a great show, but this time, they did not. Cameras quickly cut off to avoid West’s pro-Trump speech as he wore the iconic MAGA hat.

During his impromptu speech, West touched on everything from racism to Democrats, while making claims that Democrats conspire to promote welfare and keep the black community from advancing. During his rant, audience members booed, cast members were visibly uncomfortable on stage, and some even left part way through.

West apparently wore the MAGA hat during the entire week’s worth of writing sessions and rehearsals, drawing several remarks asking him not to wear it. He said that the show tried to “bully” him backstage in the attempt to have him take it off before walking out. West continues to publically to promote a message of “spreading love” instead of attempting to tear each other down as a means of progress. However, with this message, West managed to contradict himself by coming across as someone that is angry, instead of peaceful. Due to the imagery and reputation of wearing the red MAGA hat, West drew a lot of backlash. Not surprisingly the next week’s episode focused directly on this aspect during the “Weekend Update” segment with which many different celebrities spoke out on the matter.

In the end, West did not quiet the rumors of him making a presidential run in the future. This could lead to an even more exciting presidential campaign process in the near future.

I am not sure if you are aware, but on October 31, 2018 after the Blexit fascial, Mr. West said that he was done with politics. As such, I think you are a bit behind the times.

Maybe Checkpoint editors need to be more on top of the news.
